sound jack configuration.....ok heres my prob been looking everywhere with no luck....tried to uninstall drivers and software for my sound card. short of reinstalling windows.

when i was configuring windows i was distracted and when setttin up the sound jacks i set it up for 4 lines in for 7.1 when i only have a 5.1.

what im looking for is a way to edit that windows option...when i reinstalled the drivers and software it gave me the option to change the jack info but it didnt fix the info within windows it self. and i really dont want to reinstall windows.

who made your soundcard?

if its creative i know they have an app, like a control panel thing, that lets you change all the settings

it's the built in sound its a asus crosshair II MB, sound is done by soundmax. I've used their software to try and change the jack config with no luck.....its a windows thing...i tried a fix in reg edit but was for realtek didnt help what so ever.
